Product Description

Intel® Cluster Toolkit 3.1 provides exceptional value at a significantly discounted

price for clusters running either Linux* or Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster

Server* by bundling Intel® Trace Analyzer and Collector, Intel® Math Kernel Library

(MKL), Intel® MPI Library, and Intel® MPI Benchmarks into a single package. Easy to

install and easy to use, this Intel software package helps you develop, analyze and

optimize performance of parallel applications for clusters using Intel® IA-32, IA-64,

and Intel® 64 architectures.

Features

Extensive Toolkit. Adding support for Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server(CCS) as well

as for Linux clusters, the Intel Cluster Toolkit 3.1 assures industry wide compatibility AND fully

tested interoperability of these best in class tools:

·         Intel® MPI Library 3.1 - outstanding performance, flexibility and ease of use

·         Intel® Trace Analyzer and Collector 7.1 – The leading MPI performance analysis product

·         in the world

·         Intel® Math Kernel Library 10.0 – The flagship of high performance math libraries.

·         Extensively threaded, highly optimized, core math functions including BLAS, LAPACK,

·         ScaLAPACK, Sparse Solvers, Fast Fourier Transforms, Vector Math, and more.

·         Intel® MPI Benchmarks 3.1 – easy performance comparison of MPI functions and patterns

Featured Products

All the software tools included with Intel Cluster Toolkit have undergone a major revision to give you the best parallel performance analysis tools for cluster software development. The following list contains just a few of the

many new features included in this latest version:

Intel® MPI Library 3.1

Multiple Usability Improvements including: simplified variable names, options, and diagnostics, unified Intel memory management support (i_malloc); PVFS and PANFS file system support, lightweight statistics

gathering, and enhanced documentation.

Improved Application Performance: Intel® MPU Library 3.1 has improved default performance settings, automated performance tuning on Linux, improved scalable application startup/termination, as well as the

event driven mode for the shared memory and socket transfers.

Extended Interoperability by supporting the following: Windows Computer Cluster Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0, Intel® 10.1 C++ and Fortran compiler, TotalView* and IDB process attachment.

Intel® Trace Analyzer and Collector 7.1

Multiple Usability Improvements with more reports, more analysis, more filtering, making the Intel® Trace Analyzer and Collector 7.1 altogether more powerful.

Improved Performance by providing: accelerated data caching to reduce runtime overhead and memory consumption, lightweight statistics gathering and optimized stack unwinding for linking trace information back

to source code.

Extended Interoperability including support for the following: Cluster OpenMP, Global Arrays (GA), and non-MPI applications, Microsoft Windows*, MPI-1, SHMEM, MPI-IO, and ROMIO and compatibility with Microsoft and

Intel compilers and Visual Studio*

Intel® Math Kernel Library 10.0

New Functions including: Sparse BLAS zero-based indexing and support for real data, PARDISO/DSS support for Out-of-core memory, Iterative Sparse Solver support, and Vector Math arithmetic functions.

Usability Improvements including: greatly enhanced User’s Guide, new user callable threading functions allowing greater control, extended Javasupport with many examples in documentation.

Extended Interoperability: cluster enabled capability available in single MKL product , new layered architecture to better support Microsoft and GCC compiler threading, Debian and Ubuntu support.

Intel® MPI Benchmarks 3.1

Multiple Usability Improvements including new benchmarks (Gather(v), Scatter(v)). Improved Application Performance: new Command line flags to control cache reuse and to limit memory usage, options for

cold cache operation mode, maximum buffer size setting and dynamic iteration count determination, run time improvements for collectives like Alltoall(v) on large clusters.

Extended Interoperability including support for Windows Compute

Cluster Server (CCS).
